We are in week 10 of the Sunday Lately series and I am soooo late getting this out today. Sunday is nearly over. If you are new to Sunday Lately, it is a weekly series for the Blogger Co-op featuring three prompts to get us writing and sharing our stories from the past week. Each blogger can interpret these topics however they choose in their post. Then we all link back to Katy to share with each other. This week we are talking about chancing, getting, and lounging.

Chancing:

This week I have been chancing my luck with sizing by making a new McCall’s pattern without making a mock-up or tissue fitting it. I loved McCall’s 7906 when I first saw it and knew I wanted to make it immediately. So I jumped right in without doing any of the behind the scenes work of fitting it. Based on the finished measurements I knew I needed to add 2″ to the waist. I added a 1/2″ to each the front and back side seam as there are only two pieces for this pattern. Luckily, my chancy gamble paid off and the skirt fits well in the waist. I will be sharing it on the Cali Fabrics blog at the end of the month.

Getting:

On Friday, I finally got around to going to Vogue Fabrics. We have been here almost two years now and I am just now making the hour and 30-minute trek up north. I went with Stephanie from the Make & Decorate podcast so I could find yellow silk georgette for a client’s gown. I did find the most perfect yellow for it too. In addition to the georgette, I found a couple of fabrics for myself. I got three yards of a poly georgette with a blue plaid that is printed to look like it is on the bias. I have no idea what I am going to use it for yet, but at $1.99/yard I couldn’t leave it there. The other piece I picked up is three yards of a dark stretch denim for $5.99/yard. The denim is 97% cotton 3% spandex. I plan on using it to make a muslin pair of jeans before cutting into my much treasured Cone Mills denim.

Lounging:

My favorite lounge around the house pants are my joggers. I finished my second pair last week and will be blogging about them on Wednesday for the Breaking Ground Blog Tour. I am excited to share these and make some more.
